Pressure ulcers
can occur frequently in hospitalized patients, nursing care
patients and home care patients. The four (4) main
contributors to pressure ulcers are pressure,
shear, friction and moisture. As the population grows
older, increased costs are associated with pressure ulcers. In Australia, the GSJRO in conjunction with thetanning industry produced a product that would substantially decrease the presence of pressure ulcers. Consequently, the Mediram Medical Sheepskin range was developed for this market. Mediram Medical Sheepskin products are machine washable at 80°C for thermal disinfection. Mediram Medical Sheepskin products can be laundered more than 50 cycles. |

A Mediram
Medical Sheepskin overlay is a low cost, portable,
lightweight and easy to use product that can be used on beds
and chairs for patients at risk from pressure ulcers. A Mediram Medical Sheepskin overlay will alleviate the four (4) main contributors to pressure ulcers and will contribute to a patients comfort and wellbeing. The thickness and softness of the Mediram Medical Sheepskin reduces the pressure between the patients skin and the surface of the bed.
